TechOps Transforation: Supporting a Global Pharmaceutical Company through TechOps Transfromation Resulting in 20% Core COGS Improvement
SITUATION
- A Top 10 pharmaceutical company merged divisions and organized along technology platforms with the objective of improving operational efficiency and achieving 20% core COGS improvement in four years
- Part of the operational improvement was a fundamental review of its network of over 60 sites and identification of efficiency opportunities and CapEx optimization
SOLUTION
- A joint Genioo/Client PMO provided guidance to 15 work streams regarding tools, templates, timing of deliverables, guiding principles and frameworks (e.g. aligning change management activities with the global PMO; for a make vs. buy decision tree to the technology platforms; templates for business case and synergies calculations)
- The PMO managed the dual focus of ensuring no business disruptions on Day One as well as ensuring solid future organization set-up with clear plan to realize savings
- Genioo’s dedicated and flexible support ensured work streams executed tasks/deliverables on time and in alignment with the overarching roll-out plan
IMPACT
- Successful transition to new organization on Day One without loss of delivery
- Initiated product transfer program to move to future state network based on detailed business cases and tight project management
